Mods can move or delete this if needed. I figured I'd throw it out there since I trust your guys' opinion. I need a new furnace in my house. I have forced hot air and need to get something that does that and also has expansion capabilities for BB heat and hot water production. Obviously I need something with a air handler(hydro system). I've been looking at a energy kinetics system 2000 but have heard good and bad about it.
Any opinions? Thanks, John.
Once again, totally off topicbut I'd trust what someone here told me over some salesman pushing a product.

Im certified in HVAC but I dont do it for a living. But I have done some work with a friend on a Burnham Alliance XL modular hot water heater and Burnham Revolution boiler system I believe it was rated about 87% efficent. He used an air convector on the system also.It was fairly easy to install and he has not had any complaints with the system yet.

loogout I do HVAC for a living and own my own co. with a partner (my brother).
Currently I employ a man who is considered to be among the best in the country as far as the technical Q you have asked. He formerly worked for Wirsbo (a large Boiler manufacturer and innovations Co.) I will ask as to the model you specified.. he can give me better insight as I do mostly forced air and service work day to day.
I'll see what he can reccomend or his thoughts on that particular model.
But I will ask.. who makes the energy kinetics system 2000? And is it tankless? Or is a tank present?
Haha, nice! Nah, but if I did, I would like to think of it more as a mercy killing rather than a miss! If it were a horse, it would have Elmers written across it. Just hoping it holds out 'till I get my tax checks.

I am a road salesman for an HVAC wholesaler and worked in the field for a few years. I've never heard of anyone using the furnace to heat water for baseboard. We have a lot of people hook a boiler to hydro airhandlers but not the other way. Let me know if theres anything I can help you out with.
