More Bucks or More Does?

Here's one you're gonna think is crazy.....but it is in-line with the EAB thread.

Do the hunters in your state kill more bucks or more does every season?

Ya think there "might" be a reason why people in some states would definitely be in favor of the EAB program?

If this sounds like a dumb question.........FYI.....in NC....we kill more bucks than does, every year.

In Missouri there were 302,688 deer harvested: Bucks 121,038 Buttons 41,738 Doe 139,912

So there were more bucks taken if you figure in the Buttons, but I doubt an EAB system would change that number much.

Figure in how many people only took ONE deer.......and then tell me if you think it wouldn't at LEAST help. How many people who only took one deer.....took a buck?

What you'd do in a state like mine is.......ASSURE that there wouldn't be more bucks taken than does.

If you do a quick study, some of the best location states take a higher % of their herd than most. AKA more does than bucks

Almost twice as many bucks killed in OK as there are does killed every year...

more bucks are taken but there are way more does than bucks here in Rhode Island

Sure there is. Each hunter checks in his kill each time, doesn't he? He has a tag No. he reports what he kills (sex.....antlered or not.....BB) and also the number he kills is recorded. They could do it in a second on an excel spreadsheet or any program that would query.

More doe are shot here than bucks... I looked for some numbers real quick but was unsuccessful... I will search some more later.
