Default Nikon Monarch Binoculars

Hey guys I am thinking of getting a pair of Nikon
binoculars and am looking at the monarchs as
they seem to be so clear when viewing thru them.
I went to Nikons website and can not find any
warranty information on them so my question is
do they come with a lifetime warranty? Also does
anyone else use these binoculars and what are
your opinions as to the quality of them.I have
posted this in the bowhunting section as I know
that you guys are serious about your equipment
so any information you can give is very much
appreciated.Thanks Alot! Mike

I have the 8x42 ATBs and have used them about 3 years, I love them, no problems...They have a lifetime warranty, so hopefully another 50 years or so...

I wanted to buy a really nice pair of bino's so I though for $300? or whatever they cost I could get what i wanted, i loooked though them and they just didnt give me what I had hoped for/wanted. The best deal I found was Pentax DCF SP 10x43, they make 8x43, and a few others. For around $500 you won't find anything clearer til you start comparing to $1000+ models. A big step up from nikons for an extra $200. To me why spend $300 for the nikons when I felt that quality I could probably buy a pair for $75 that was on par with those. Nikons were nice/ok, as I'm sure I could find something cheaper that's also nice/ok, i wanted, WOW! and got that.

I used (my dad's) 10x36s...amazingly clear and built very well for the price. I would recommend them...warranty, I can't remember off the top of my head, however.

Thanks so much for those that responded to my
questions about the Nikon binoculars and after
going to a outdoor show this weekend I know
now that I will be buying a pair of 10x36 Nikons
as I like that size and the clarity is really great.
After much evaluation of binoculars these Nikons
seem about the best I have seen for the price. So
once again thanks for the help. Mike

I love my Nikon ATB 8x42 very clear and lightweight. I prefer 8x over 10x for bowhunting. I think 8x42 are your best bet, particularly at low light.

I've been using the 8x42 ATB's for going on 2 seasons, now. For the money.....they're the best I've seen.

About the warranty, though......I noticed after one of my last hunts, this past fall.....the screw out eyepiece was missing from my binos. I called Nikon and they told me to send them ot CA. I get a telegram in the mail telling me the cost to repair them will be about $21. They ask me if I want to repair them, or not.

$21 is cheap enough....and I OK'd it.......so I'm not thinking there's a lifetime warranty.

Just an FYI.

Just make sure they are waterproof. I have a cheaper set of Nikons and they are very nice and are very clear. Unfortunatly they fogged up on me this year in the rain. (The rainy day I shot my buck actually)

Its $21 to fix them too. However sisnce they are not waterproof in the first place I didn't send them in. They did clear up later though and are fine now. I just don't trust them for a trip now.
