Every deer I've shot from a tree has always been with me sitting down.

I have shot deer both ways and prefer to stand but am also comfortable shooting while sitting.

All of mine have been standing. I have the Summit Viper with the rail. I can shoot over the railto my left while sitting though and have practiced it.

Used to be Standing in a treestand, now its standing on the ground.
