Good read Germ, I have always noticed that at 3 1/2 the hump at the shoulders becomes more distinct, but then maybe its just me.

That was a great read, and answered alot of questions. But also brought a new question to my mind.

Is there a way to tell the real age of the deer after it is killed? One that is indisputable?

The way that most biologists age deer after the kill is by examining the jaw and teeth. This is not the final answer mistakes are made and it is a skill thing to do it there is very little science involved, just some minor qualities for each age class.

Also after about 4.5 years old teeth start to look the same so it ends up being aprofessional guess.
