No.... the first kill at 12 years old was a compound...when beer drinking came into my life at 21 years old in 1996...the lord blessed me with this lady with a long bow...Zwickey Heads and Cedars...A 50 pound purple heart & osage bow....See the snow on the ground?? Drawing a long bow in 13 degrees is god aweful....but some how I made my mark.....I wrote a story on this hunt and its posted in my hunting room... Its called...."The night he went stick" sounds crazy but that trad. kill meant a great deal to me....made me appreciate how hard it is to take an animal like the indians did....

In 1998 I did it with flint with cedar wrapped in deer tendons....that same year I lost a 170+ 10 point and I lost my mind....Since 1998 I've only taken a few doe and a spike with my stick bow....I lost that once in a life time shot with my stick...I know its a rocky topic to discuss......but I just wanted to go back to high tech...I'll never forget that night....I have not seen another deer in the wild that would even touch 140...let alone 170....that spot was a secret spot that I have lost because the land owners moved...Livingston County, Michigan. The 10 foot radius that he stood in reaked like tinks after I got down to study my shot......the body on him was like nothing I'd ever seen....I gotta get off this subject..........

Wow, heck of story and sorry for the bad luck! Hunting with the Traditional gear isn't roses but at the same time its very productive. I'll never shoot another compound pending my body holds up when I'm old and gray.
