Default 65% vs. 80% letoff?

Which do you use, prefer? My first bow was 80%, my new bow is 65%.

My bow is set at 80% letoff @65#.I am able to hold the bow steady at full draw for alot longer than I could at 65% letoff.I am able to focus onwhereI want to place arrownot just hitting kill zone somewhere. It is just one less thing I need to worry about when the big one comes in.

I still like the draw cycle of my 65% let-off bow.

I prefer 65%. Things have changed dramatically though now days through engineering improvements. Still I prefer closer to 65% letoff and am miffed that some manufacturers now produce bows with only 80% letoff. Thats why I won't be looking at bows such as the new Martin Firecat or Elite GTO......specs on them say 80% letoff, no option I guess.

I've shot plenty of both and much prefer the 80% as do the majority of Bowhunters I have talked to.

Iprefer 65%.

Tho' I'm not sure what the let-off is now. Probably closer to 80%. I'm trying to be nice to my shoulder so it doesn't wake me up in the middle of the night.

I believe that is a myth that 80% is easier on body parts than 65%. Higher letoff just allows a person to hold at full draw longer. No matter what letoff, at some point the peak poundage still must be pulled. I believe the draw cycle itself and what feels comfortable to each individual hunter is more important as far as being more or less damagaing to the shoulder.

I prefer 80%. I tryed putting it at 65% and chnged right back because i wasn't able to hold as long and I was getting tired after a couple of rounds.

Ah Hah! Good move Christine. I am pretty sure my next bow will be lower poundage than what I currently shoot. I'm just getting to darn old[:-].
