Default Problems with the '08 class...

Day after day we see the threads about how I love my "2008.... yada yada yada" and how wonderful they all are. Anyway, I was wondering if anyone has experienced any problems (or dislikes) with their bows. Or if these have been out long enough for the "chronic" problems to be exploited. I personally haven't heard of anything yet...

Dustin I have a problem with my '08 bow of choice......the Bowtech 82nd Airborne.

It's too fast. I honestly made a mistake in ordering this bow in the 60-70# model.....for the 3D circuit I'm shooting in. I can't dumb it down, enough.

Only negative to this bow is the draw cycle is "aggressive" just as it rolls into the valley. REAL aggressive. My 50-60# limbs should be here in another week or so.....and I hope everything comes together for me.

These bows are every bit "as advertised". I just miscalculated. My mistake. Not Bowtech's.

Hoyt's Cam&Half Plus module screws will continuously come loose. They won't even tighten down and stay with Loc-Tite.

I'm actually thinking of staying with my '05 Patriot and maybe pick up another one because my son wants mine. I don't see myself being particularly any happier with an '08 at this time(that could change) and I certainly am sure I wouldn't shoot any better.

Yep...The Bowtech GENERALS string stop was obviously a last minute idea.

Its a piece of crap. The rubber lays within a horse-shoe shaped frame. 2 little rubber prongs are all that keep it from popping out. THEY DONT WORK.

After some shooting, the rubber starts to get really beat up, then youll notice that the rubber begins to pop out while shooting. Eventually the rubber prongs break and you will have to glue the rubber stopper into the frame.

That doesnt help much, and it just dries out the rubber faster.

If you own a General, this will be an on-going issue that you'll have to get used too, but its a minor problem.

Definetly surprised that bowtech would market the bow like this.

I amĀ* not the only one with this issue. My friend at our local bow shop said that just about everyone that bought a General has had this issue. They are replacing our stops for free.
I have the same problem with my Marquis.

06 here still, probably for awhile too.

I've herad those bowtech short stop's suck. I think you can remove them and replace it with a STS type in your rear stab hole and be alot better off. I think bowtech needs another year to redesign it.
