Default RE: When you measure your arrows ??

Probably.

the best thing to do is get arrows cut to your exact fit. then measure them, that way, the next time you order arrows you can tell them the measurements from ___ to ___.

My shop goes by end of arrow nock to shaft.

the proper way is to measure from the throat of the nock to the end of the shaft. And that is what I always use.

Most things I have read say this. Not the end of the insert but the end of the shaft as you have stated.

If anyone uses OnTarget2 software be aware that the arrow length used in the software is the shaft length only and does not include the nock.

My arrows are measured by shaft length only.

Mine too and I cut an equal amount from BOTH ends of the shaft.

I will typically do that also. The only time I don't is if one end has some wobble when I spin the shaft. Then I will cut more from that end. With the Carbon Tech arrows I haven't had that problem though .
