What do I think?? Well, now that I have read and talked to some people that have been on the other side of the "fence", no pun intended, outfitters are pretty much a joke in my book. Not all of I guess are bad, but when you talk about paying for what size buck you want?? 2500$ for a 135, 5500$ for 160 and 8000$ for a 190 and up?? Give me a break dude, that just kills me, I will never do that, I will quit hunting before I do that.

In the scenario you talk about, I agree thats a joke. I'd never hunt anywhere that the bigger the buck you shoot, the more you pay. I know there are canned hunts in which you can pay beforehand for a certain size buck, in fact there is such a place right here in Illinois.[:@]

Thats nothing. The place I was talking about charges $1850 for a 115"-130" at the low end to $16,900 for a 201"-210" buck. For hunts at a buck over 210" you must call. 3 day hunts with a NO KILL NO PAY rule!!!
Cougar,
I was watching the Journal of the American Trophy Hunter the other day. It said they were hunting in Illinois. The guy was using 30-06, but then they said it was "that certain place in Illinois", what a joke. If people can't find anything better to do with their money, they can always donate it to the "Leland Bunting Crisis Fund", which is a semi-tax deductible organization. If you would like to donate just send a check or money order made out to Leland Bunting, I'll make sure it gets to where it's needed.

I've done a guided hunt in Manitoba on public land any deer its up to the hunter. It was $3000 for five days meals and logging they take you out and you sit all day in comfortable stands. I saw some nice bucks and had a great time. I've also looked into a few place that are double that price onprivate land and if you dont kill a big enough deer you have to pay more and can never come back. That sounds like it would add alout of pressure to the hunt and take away the fun. Has anyone else every heard of this.
