Default Who feels like they need to get atleast one?

Atleast one deer per year. I am that way, I feel like a total failure if I dont get atleast one deer per year. Last year 06/07 I didnt get a single deer and at the end of the season I was hunting hard and just couldnt make it happen. However during our RUT I had to attend a class for work in Atlanta for 3 weeks. But this year I made up for it, I killed a bobcat, 5 deer ( shot six but made a poor shot on the last one and didnt make a fatal hit, tracked for about 250 yards before the blood just stopped ) then I shot a 200lb hog. But I just feel I need to get that one kill under my belt. I know its not about the kill, but I feel like a failure if by theend of my 5 month deer season I couldnt pullatleast oneoff. Anybody else feel like this?

I don't know about a failure, but it is a man's job to put meat on the Table

If I hunted as hard as I do.....and spent as much time and energy (and $$).....and didn't get a single deer in a season......

Yeah...I'll be honest. I'd feel like I failed......or let myself down.

If I hunted in some of the places that guys here do, though....I might not feel that way. I live in a target-rich environment. I admittedly have larger deer density than most.

If you really do feel like a failure, then you are hunting for all of the wrong reasons.

The pressure increases as the season goes on. I would feel like I failed if I didn't shoot at least a doe. I would feel sorry for the chipmunk I take my aggression out on at the end of the season.
