Feel free to move or delete this Mods if you want, no skin off my back. After seeing GMMATS thread on taxi's I thought I would ask you all what you would do in this situation. I brought a bear in to my Taxidermist back in 2000 to get a rug mount done. Were going on 2008 and still no bear. He keeps telling me it will be done next month! I want to just go there and pull it out and bring it somewhere else but I no longer have the bear license for that bear. Everytime you bring an animal to the taxi you have to have your hunting license, being I don't have it anymore I dought another taxi would take mine. I'm starting to think this a hole lost my rug or something!! Let me add too that this is a very big bear head wise and its a chocolate which isn't to common in Minnesota. Whats a person do in this situation? Here's a pic of the bear, i'm on the right.
Next time you go see him ask to see the hide. If he cannot show it to you ask him where it is.If he claims it is at a tanneryask him to call and inquire about it while you listen to the conversation. The truth might not be in the man.
Man I feel for YA!! Has he got the skull also? I research my Taxidermists to the Hilt! I have to drive a ways but his reputation and the work he does for me makes it worth while. I think I'd be looking into some kind of legal avenue. He should still have your tags. Hope this works out for you!
x2. if he didnt lose it, he should have the license on file so you may still be able to get it from him along with his info on the license and take it else where.
thats unheard of, my money is on him loosing, selling, or messing this bear up.

There is absolutely NO EXCUSE for it taking that long, let's be realistic! How cansomething as big as a bear get "lost"? I would have been up his a$$ a long time ago, that's for sure! Sorryto hear of this guy jerking you around, I hope it works out for the good. It sounds like a special animal.

I got the skull Dan. I told him I needed that right away so I could get it measured for P@Y. The funny thing about this whole situation is my family and I started this guy out in taxidermy. We've known him for years so we told him we would bring him everything we got to help get his business started. His mounts are priceless, there very good. I've never had a problem with any other kind of animal when bringing it to him. Everything else I've gotten back in 6 months. This guy has mounted well over 20 mounts for my family and we've spread the good word for him to get his name out there and this is what I get out of it. He no longer gets my stuff. This is just typical with me I swear. Sometimes good guys finish last!
