Decided to spend the day in the woods just looking around and enjoying a day alone in the woods.. and did a little late season looking around........ when I came across the Guy
I then found a small peice of color in the winter woods
I decided to return to the site of the remains of the 1st buck that I shot back on Oct 16th 2007 to remove the remains of my half broken arrow from his skeleton
( the remains were left due to a bad hit and not recovering my buck until the meat had spoiled) So I retrieve my arrow and am inspecting the skeletal remains of the very old completly gray faced buck for arthritis etc when I notice something shinny lodged in the bottom of his spine located before the 1st set of ribs......
its a Muzzy 3 Blade.... it was amazing to see howthe spinehad healed with the bone growing around the broadhead. Interesting thing is that I never noticed a scare on the buck in this area....... But..... he did grow a non typ growth out of the side of his head.... a tine a few inches long below the main beam and just above the eye on the same side of his body as the broadhead had hit.
Made stop to think of the guy whom shot him last year... thinking of the turmoil and his own personal hell he must of went through after shooting this buck...........
I know I did my own tour through hell aftershooting this buck until I found him.
And put me once again in Awe of thethoughness and will to survive of the whitetail species.
