If I were you I would consider buying some type of ladder stand that you could trim a few limbs and lean the stand into the tree and strap in down. That way you have a clear way to get up in the tree and still have some type of cover!I have a 1-man Big Dog ladder stand that is easy to carry and set up.I am going to use the one I have now for Bow Hunting and the next one I buy will be a little wider and more comfortable for using while Rifle Hunting.

Are you looking for something to leave up all season in one place or something to pack in and out each trip? If leaving up all season I suggest a good hangon like Gorilla.

If you will be packing it in and out or think you will be moving it several times I suggest something light for mobility and easy to hang like a Lone Wolf Alpha or a Lone Wolf Assault.

Here's a thought,

why not purchase a climber? You can still use it as a loc on but you cannot use a loc on as a climber. Seriously, lots of great choices out there for loc ons but the versatilitiy of a climber is endless.

I prefer loc ons in my secure spots but I also own a climber.

I really like my lone Wolf alpha hang on with the climbing sticks.Portable and can be hung in any tree,as long as it isn't too big in diameter.
