I usually dont start looking around my part of MN until early March. I try to wait until I know all are on the ground and they should be by this time.

Given a stressful winter (as we have had so far) they will lose them earlier. I found a set in mid December this year, earliest I have ever found one.

Picked up 4 last weekend, but I don't start looking really hard until mid February. Over the next month over half of the deer will drop, and by mid March 90% will be on the ground. That should hold true for most of the midwest.

My eyes are always looking all year round even while hunting. My area southern Indiana, Feb-April with March being the HOT month, like already said it depends on the area and how much stress the bucks have been through.

I'm thinking late Jan. they will be dropping so Feb. and March so be even more productive to find sheds.Last year I was out in the woods in early March and I saw a young 4-point Buck with only 1 side of his rack still on him.
