Default Release shooters??

Do you guys like your release set light as a feather or do you like to have to squeeze the trigger pretty good to get the shot off? Please explain. Me personally I like mine set that when I touch it its gone!

For hunting.....yep.....I like it light.

For targets.....I like to be able (I'm just finding out) to pre-load a little bit of tension on the trigger. I use a wrist strap release (Scott) for hunting....and a thumb style (Carter) for targets/3D.

After getting some great info about target panic from TFOX, I am a squeeze guy now. Light as feather leads to one thing IMO

Target panic

My problem with having to squeeze I end up jerking the trigger. I find if I can hold on my target and then just lighly touch off the trigger im good. I shoot a Scott Little Goose.

If it is working for you then i would keep doing it. TFOX gave some great info as to why. I have always shot a heavier trigger. I switch about 4 years ago to light. I started shoot while moving deal. I now am back to normal, but for me the light trigger was not the way to go.

Squeeze is the way to go. For target try a back tension release.
Most people I watch shoot areal lite trigger seem to punch the trigger more then set it off.If the bow goes off and it did not surprise you then you are most likely punching the trigger.(not good)

I personally like lite. I find that if I have to squeeze I anticipate the shot and pull off target.

As long as there is no movment in the trigger, tight is fine. Germ, I have a pinky/thumb release set light to the pinky, you won't jerk it.
