Default Check this out, my arrow blew apart

Almost forgot about this. I was hunting/videoing Saturday afternoon. I drew back on an Doe, 18 yard broadside chip shot, settled the pin, pulled the trigger and stuff went everywhere. I saw the main part of the shaft and braodhead land about 5 feet short of the deer flopping end over ever end. After figuring it out I saw the arrow broke a few inches in front of the vanes. The worst part is I lost my Luminock!! I shotabout 24 arrows on Sundaywith no problem so Im assuming the shaft must have been fractured and I didnt see it. I do look my arrows over before nocking every one in the stand.

I've had that happen. It could have been a cracked nock or damaged shaft. It pays to look them over after every shot. At least you were not hurt! I got a cut on the hand as well as the face when it happened to me. It could have been much worse.Made me Gunshy for a while

Yeah Andy, I'm glad you alright. I've never had it happen and I've used a pile of different arrows. Course there was a small window with all carbon, I've never heard of an ACC coming apart like that.

Man I'm glad your okay!

I had one do something similar.[]

I think I nocked it upside down and when I released on the deer,I heard a smack and had a tough time finding the arrow,it was straight down in front of my stand and there was a limb out in front of me about 6-7 feet that had a mark on it.The rest must have pushed it up into the limb and the arrow was pretty much destroyed after that.

Had another one do it when it smacked the side of a tree in a toughman shoot,BUT the point end went into the 10 ring.
