Lasik Surgery???

I had lasik done and have been very pleased with the results. I now have 20/15 vision, better than the day I was born. Although, when I picked up my mathews and went to get some practice I noticed that I had trouble focusing in on the pin. I would be focused only on the background(target). Anyone heard of this or know if this is normal??

No idea. Keep us posted about how it works out though. I am very interested in lasik myself. I'm pissed my insurance won't cover it but some guy needs viagra and he gets what he needs.[:@]

I focus on the target anyway.

I had it done back in 2001. The doctors tell you going in you will loose some vision up close like reading distance and closer. It's normal because the surgery can only effect and correctone vision condition ie. your long distance vision and not your up close vision. Now you can tell the doctor you want one eye to see distance and one to see up close before surgery but not after. Your brain will do the adjustment at looking at the pins and the target while focusing on the target. I'm fine bowhunting but shooting competition I have not tried it. I have 20/30 in one eye and 20/20 in the other. I would not change a thing I just went to Sam's club and bought a bunch of cheap reader style glasses and spread them around so Ican find one pair no matter what.

hmm..yes please keep us updated i am curious myself.........my eyes are everything and i just wear glasses while hunting and shooting (contacts dry out too fast)....i have thought about it...but still hunting takes over and i just don't want to risk my eyes..that is all

I love that they corrected my farsightedness, but the slight haze around the pin or my inablility to focus on the pin is a lil tough, but it hasn't realy had an impact on my accuracy. Just worried about the effect it will have on my ability to pick the spot on deer in the wild. will keep ya posted.

Had it done in 01 also. at first i had a hard time seeing at night and up close but after a couple months after everything healed completly i can see perfect now.

I had LASIK surgery back in 2002. I have not regretted it a day since. The key is to make sure that you get a top notch doctor. I can see near and far equally well ie 20/20. The only thing I notice is a glare around lights at night(more so than when wearing glasses).

One thing with Lasikthat has been in the news and it was true with my vision is the early on set of cataracts. The connection is not quiet understood as of last I read but in some patients the vision becomes hazy with night vision especially around traffic. It can be an indicator of cataracts forming on your eyes so be aware of the condition and get it checked. I had to have contaract surgery 3 years after my lasik was done on one eye and then the following year the other eye. Cataract surgery is not much and it's all out patient but this baby boomer gen has some sun issues causing some earlier cataract problems.

The halos around lights at nite was the only drawback from my lasik, sitting at about 20/15 20/10, had it donw about 4-5 years ago, took about 2 years of the halos to go away enough that I could drive at nite again, but other than that it has been great......
