Default Arrow Wraps

Im new to fletching my own arrows but someone told me that when I put an arrow wrap on I can keep using the same wrap over and over just adding new vanes in place of the old ones. Is this correct? or do I have to change the wrap every time I have to fletch the arrow again(which I thought in the first place)?

You have to replace the wrap if you need to cut a new fletch on

Nope. What JimPic said, you need to replace the wrap and all vanes when you need to refletch even one of them. If you weren't using wraps and tore up one vane, you could replace just that one. I still think its easier to fletch with wraps, better adherence and its easier to get the old fletchings off. I use white wraps to show blood better and to make the arrow easier to find (except in snow.)

SOMETIMES you can get away with it, if the wrap is removed down to the shaft RIGHT WHERE THE VANE WAS....It will obviously leave a spot w/ no wrap, and if you can put the vane in the exact spot you won't notice.

It is, however, MUCH easier to simply redo the whole thing. And if you get your wraps from onestringer, they are inexpensive enough to not break the bank, especially for the solid colors.

Good info all--I think I am going to start going to arrow wraps. I have flethed my own for awhile and to be honest it gets a little old sometimes.
