Default what a find

Saturday my buddies were doing some pushes for another buddy that was hunting with his flintlock. i was guiding him and sitting with him because i knew where to sit.

this is what one of the drivers carried out...

6" around just about the burr

brow tine was 10.5 i believe

G2 was 11.5 i believe

G3 was atleast 8..i cant remember what it measured...

main beam was only a mere 27"...

mice or squirrels took a toll on it quick...it was pretty fresh, still had hair on the bases. buddy that found it was following his own tracks through the snow from the day before and found it..snow was melting quick the day he found it. dont know if it was THAT fresh or if he just didnt see it the previous day...

i couldnt believe it...all on land i can bowhunt..was found on someones woodlot we have permission to hunt, right outside a county park your only allowed to bowhunt. dont know if i will persue it...TONS of deer in the area..litterally..but the buck numbers are pretty bad...alot of guys say the bowhunters take the bucks out..and we been in the park just walking around before and its littered with treestands. dont know if im smart enough to outsmart a buck that is that old and as smart as he is...

any guess on what the buck would score?? the mass is pretty unbelieveable...i happened to notice my buddy left it in my truck and took those quick measurements before i returned it to him..what about age?? i said atleast 3.5 or 4.5...just curious...

that got us all pretty pumped, but we only hunt the area in flintlock season...rifle season the farms get hammered and the deer seek refuge in the park...i might look into bowhunting it...i dont know...its big and big hardwood trees dominate the park...the deer are in and out of the park regularly to eat corn on the farms..but i might beable to outsmart the other hunters..most of their stands are right behind their houses or close to the roads or up against the cornfields etc...we will see...

Man if it's this year's it had to have an army of squirrels on it. I'd be carefull hunting there, I hear those those will kill for a good nut.

Are you serious? I'm not questioning you, really....but that woud make it 10" longer than the shortest side of my last buck....and it just doesn't appear that long. If it is....it is.....just checking. I hope you're right!

Great find, regardless!

almost posative thats what it measured Jeff...i about pooped when i taped it...it honestly doesnt look THAT big in person...but it kinda has a wierd curve to it..heres 2 more pics that may help...keep in mind the tine legnth and i just measured the top of that aquarium its sitting atop of in the one pic..thats 17" across...

maybe those pics will help...heck, look at my hand in comparision...4 fingers how they are in that pic is 4"...just measured that as well lol...i know you arent doubting me...just trying to help you see the size of it...that isnt something easy to get a good comparison pic of...

being that there is no hunting except bowhunting in the park, and nothing but mature oak trees, the squirrel population is probably nasty thick..no doubt its from this year...it had its color and hairs on the bases still...

wow, that could be a massive 8 (but I bet the other side had more points with that space on the main beam).
