Default A little late season luck!

Woohoo, late season buck down! I threw the climber on and went to a new area of this property, hunting "on the fly". It was 1:00 when I got situated, only about 10 feet up, but it was perfect. At the end of a ridge overlooking a big woods creek bottom.
About an hour later I see a doe to my right. Then suddenly I hear something running in on my left, another big doe, but there's something else coming. He's following her and passing me at 25 yards. He stops, and I'm already locked on, BAM!He ran about 40 yards, stopped and stood for a few minutes (felt like hours), and dropped. I wanted to jump out of the tree.
He's not gonna score huge, his brows were chipped down to about an inch, but I'm still happy as hell with him. My best buck with the bow and a double throat patch!!

Where he fell

Congrates on a nice buck Super. I had almost the identical thing happen weekend before last, but the doe busted me before I got a shot at the buck so he spooked. Unfortunately for the doe she stoped out there at about 40yards so I let her have it. I didnt get the buck but I got a little revenge on the doe. Where abouts in Illinois do you hunt?

awesome, nothing like a little late season action. I'm surprised he was still out chasing.

Thats Awesome SRH! I'm still out myself trying to get a late season Buck/Doe! I wish I was hunting enough timber to "Hunt on the fly", might just change a few things!
A big CONGRATS!!!!!!
