Default Rage BH for a Crossbow?

Anyone shoot Rage 2 blades from a crossbow. I am mostly traditional so the rage BHs are very new to me. I bought a pack earlier in the year. Also my daugter is hoping to get her first deer (She's 11) I have an older PSE foxfire 125 lbs crosbow that my grandfather use to hunt with. I have the Broadheads he used but would like to use the rage if 125 isn't to much for them. Plus I won't need to try them like I will with the older BH's (6 blade)

I'd say it'd work fine. There are people who are using them out of crossbows. I would try to get some Orthodonist (sp?) little rubber bands and put around the heads just to be safe though

I should have said my daughter will be using it to try to take her first deer.

Cool.,,, I had concerns of them opening when she shot and then flying funny. Sounds like they will do fine. I know people were shooting them from 75 lbs compounds but 125lbs crossbow is a bit faster speedup. Or it would seem that way.

Thanks

They work well! I seen them work well on a buddies here in Pa. He shot a doe this year and the same devastating results! Just use little rubber bands for extra reinforcement!

I don't know anything about the Rage heads except they are mechanical, but that's about all I need to know about 'em.I'm not sure a 125 lb crossbow is enough for mechs. The draw weight sounds impressive, but the power stroke is so short on crossbows that it doesn't translate into much more power than a conventional bow.

The old rule of thumb is to divide the crossbow's draw weight by 3 and that will correspond in power to the draw weight of a conventional bow. That 125 lb crossbow will equate to about a 40 lb bow. I don't know of many who are using mechanicals with 40 pound bows. I'd suggest heading down the list to the crossbow forum and talk to the xbow gurus. See what they think.

I shot a bunch of them out of my dads Excalibur Vortex which is a 200lb bow and they did just fine with no extra rubber bands. However, if i was shooting them at deer id possibly think about the suggestions of extra rubber bands just to be on the safe side.
