Default thanks everyone, i got it done

well i took some of yalls advice on how to hang my hang on. i went with the screw in steps. it was not bad at all. it went pretty good. the hardest part was cutting down trees in the area with a hatchet. to make the habitat more suitable and saut after by bucks. plus my friend that owns the land said that yesterday he saw a monster buck in his backyard. so i will hit the stand on monday or tomorow depending on the weather.

this was my first stand i have hung ever and it was by myself.

Just some advice... Never hang a stand by yourself.Always have a spotter to help because bad things can happen.

I usually hunt alone and sometimes you need to be mobile and move stands. I did this this year I found a new rubline with fresh sign, put up a stand at noon came back at 2 and killed a doe at 4. I like using climbing sticks with the screw ins as extras.

OK, a little more unsolicited information for you. It's too late now and you've done it, but it's best to keep any cutting and tree felling to a minimum.... like NONE is better than any. There may be an occasional limb that needs cutting or tied back, but the woods is best left as is. The deer tend to get skiddish when someone comes in and sweats all over the place cutting trees. You want to keep your traffic and stink to an absolute minimum. Playing Paul Bunyon has the opposite effect. You want to slip in, find a tree, hang a stand and slip out without being discovered. It'll incress your odds tremendously

I usually have my hang on's put up pre season and use my climber for any needed moves. That way I can have someone there in case I fall putting up a hang on. Especially important for someone new to the whole hang on stand use.

Remember to always wear a full body safety harness while hanging a stand and hunting from one! Be safe and have Fun!
