Hey Guys it's easy to forget that HNI has a whole series of articles, pictures, tips, games, whats new,and other things on the actual Homepage.

Without much fanfare our own Diesel (Andy) has a whole article on his new Camo, posted in the news section. Thats pretty Cool !!I guess we owe it to all our advertisers to check out the home page every once in a while!

Introducing UltimateCamo

Have you ever wished that you had a bark pattern for hunting whitetails from your tree stand? Have you ever wished you had a bark pattern for hunting turkey while sitting against the base of a tree? Now you do!

UltimateCamo was created by Mother Nature herself, not an artist. The branches and leaves in the woods serve as a natural and realistic three-dimensional compliment to our pattern. Withthe UltimateCamo systemthe tree and the camo work together as accessories. This enables the hunter to merge well with the trees whether at the base or up in a stand. The all new bark pattern is so detailed you"™ll think you"™re wearing the real thing. The colors used are a mix of gray, browns, and greens to make the pattern the most universal and realistic bark pattern yet. For the past 2 years we have field tested dozens of color variations to give you the best possible color combinations for a variety of trees other than just oaks, such as poplar, locust, sweet gum, ash, some types of pines and many more.
Since bark does not change colors why should your camo? With UltimateCamo's pattern you will not need to buy seasonal sets of camouflage clothing to match the continually changing foliage on and around the trees. Our pattern does not blob at far distances, in shade, or when the sun is setting. This pattern picks up colors exactly as bark does in direct sunlight.

Ultimate Camois extremely effective when used in typical hunting situations for turkey and whitetails. When hunting whitetails and turkey, you must beat them at their own game. Most hunters set up facing the direction they hope the deer or turkey will be approaching for two reasons. One, so the hunter can more easily see the quarry before they see us, and two, so the hunter can assess the approach path and give them a much better opportunity to prepare for the shot. In this situation when using trees with similar bark pattern and color, there is no bettercamo systemon the market.

In researching the best bark pattern to use, we looked at the most popular trees hunters use to set up and intercept deer from, and found oak was a commonly used tree and was perfect for our first pattern. When deer season starts in Fall, most hunters know deer head to the oak groves to fatten up on one of their favorite foods, acorn nuts, in preparation for the energy consuming rut, making an oak perfect for our first pattern.

Our research also found it was once thought that deer see only in black and white. Scientists have now learned, however, that deer have dichromatic vision, which would appear as yellow and or blue sepia tones to human eyes. Humans, turkeys and other animals see in trichromatic vision. Our pattern is not affected in either vision type as our bark pattern in full color, black and white, or sepia tones, blends perfectly with bark as the pattern matches typical bark chip textures where other camouflage patterns do not match a trees natural bark texture.

About UltimateCamo

As an avid hunter with 26 years of experience, Andy Cuttitta, UltimateCamo originator and pattern creator, fell in love with hunting shortly after he bought his first bow at the age of 16. During his first 23 years of hunting he purchased numerous types of camouflage clothes and was continually frustrated by the limitations of camouflage products designed for whitetail hunting from tree stands. Most camouflage companies offered seasonal patterns which gets expensive. Andy started modifying some of his existing gear by painting them with accents to more realistically match the exact environment and season he was hunting in to try and find that perfect pattern as seen in the picture bellow taken some years ago.

In the fall of 2005, Andy was sitting in a tree stand hunting. Looking across the field he could easily spot his friends in their tree stands and noticed they were easily visible wearing the latest high tech camo patterns available. Andy recalled how over the years he had also observed that every once in a while deer would look up and clearly see him sitting in his stand even though he was wearing camouflage from head to toe with the wind in his favor. For years the myth was that deer don't look up in trees which he learned was not the case. If you move, or if the deer notice something out of place, they will look up! Andy could not help but wonder why there were no modern tree bark camouflage patterns for people that hunt out of tree stands, and so the seed was planted...

And, to boot....the camo is awesome. I can't wait to give it a full season's review as our whitetail early NC season unfolds.

Kudos. Andy. And kudos to HNI for spotlighting a great product.

Wow. That is spooky. Almost like the Predator movie. Does he have wrist mounted lasers, also?

I don't know how I missed this thread. Very nice GR8. Kudo's to Andy too. Without guys like Andy, there is no HNI. We need to support those that support us. And like GMMAT said, it's great camo too.
