Default trials and tribulations of Germ v. Mr. Mass

Germ.....Whispering....This past weekend (left on my cell):

"Hey it's me. Uh....Just wanna let you know.....It's uh.....whatever time it is......I think it's just before 3:00. I'm staring at Mr. Mass....25 yards from me....Right now...he's on the river bank...looking at me. I'm sittin here in my boat. My uh release is buried in the bottom of my bag. My bow's here...not nocked.

And we're....just kinda lookin' at each other. OH....Now he's runnin' away.

Yep....There he goes.....Son of a Bitch."

Keep the faith, Germ!

Hunting a certain buck will drive you nuts !! Germ is squirrelly ( funny in a GOOD SENSE)to start with.Probably a good thingas not to end upwearing the long sleaved white camo-ed jacketin a padded enviroment at the end of hunting season.

Germ is one of those guys I would love to hunt with for a whole year .... I would learn so much all the while wetting myself laughing .... (figuratively speaking of course ....... the wetting part [:-]) I hope he gets that buck he wants!

damn that deer, the sad part was 1.5 hours later I had him coming my way and a yote spooked him off[&:]

So far I have had him within 40 yds 4 times in tree, 3 of the times he has been spooked off

1. Nov 8th Uncle ED coming down the lane at 8:00AM in the morning to cut wood
2. Trapper accross the river spooked him and some does off at 8:52 AM, I almost flung an arrow at the SOB
3. Yote ran him off
BTW I do not get to upset when things like this happen, you take the good with the bad. Last year it was a car chased porky in to a corn field that gave me my shot. I still have no idea IF I would have gotton a shot.

I have had him lay 40-50 yds from me for7 hours on the 10th of Nov, only to get up and walk the other way[&:]
I have crawled within 6 steps of him in Dec 3rd trying to sneak into a stand at 4:30 AM.

I watch him stand about 15 yds from a stand I thought about huntinglate Nov[&:]

I would bet my house he walks in front of me as a Rob buck this weekend

I choose not to shoot a nice 9 in Oct, so I set my sights on Mr. Mass. I first saw him Oct 1st(this year), and now he laughs and mocks me.

I have thought hard if I got my shot would I shoot him now? The guygot through orange army, and has made me look silly all year. I have pile respectfor this deer. He has made me better hunter(I think).I am sure he is 4.5, last year he was a nice 130'' 8. He will break 150 for sure.

I can relate to this, Germ (but the size of the rack is relative!).

I can also tell you that I somehow.....in a weird way.....regret that the deer I was hunting isn't still out there. Sounds weird, I know, but it's true.

Good luck the rest of the season, Gary

I think you could make a mini-series out of this years saga.

It just blows my mind a buck that old is allowing himself to be seen that many times, sounds like its a matter of time before you get a crack at him, and i hope you do

I'll second that! I'm willing to bet it would be (by far) the most fun year I've ever had hunting.
