Default Late Season Rub???

I've been bow hunting a spot behind our neighborhood this year. In September, I shot a large Doe. I passed up a button buck last week. I went out tonight and found what appears to be a new rub 15 yards from my stand. I find it hard to believe I missed this the 5 times prior.

Have any of you seen a rub made this late in the season? I've got a week left to hunt the buck that made it.

There is a second rut that comes in approx a month after the first. The bucks also are ready and willing to breed until they drop their antlers.

I see a few late rubs each year. You got to love the ones where the peices of bark are atop a fresh snow

Deer (bucks) will rub as long as there are still antlers on their head.
