Okay, I'm heading to Cabela's in exactly two hours to purchase a brand-spanking-new recurve bow. I will shootsaid bow in my basement tonight for probably an hour (range < 20 feet).
I still have a PA doe tag.
So, I'm gonna mix and match some old arrows and see what works best, and I'm going hunting... Tomorrow Morning. Then the following morning.
So Ethics Police: Feel free to roast me alive. I really don't care. I'm licensed. I'm armed. And I'm going.
* I will add that I do know how to shoot recurve - grew up shooting one. But byno means am I"good at it." I used to play in my yard with my old one until I lost it last year. *

Cmon man,
You're in Pittsburgh. How cold could it be tonight? 20-25. Get out there with the truck lights on the target and practice at 20 and 30 yards.
Then get out there and tell us about the bigdoe you killed tomorrow morning
Or....do a preemptive strike and post a "i gut shot a deer, now what?" thread. This way you will be prepared for tomorrow
Danny - I've already got a ground blind built and ready in a natural funnel. Should be a 10 yard shot or less, if the wind cooperates. My biggest problem is that the deer are still pretty shell-shocked from gun season. I think it's supposed to rain, too - which puts a damper on things. (pun intended.)
