Not sure about the metal ones, but have always used the camo colored string loops. Never had any problems with them. Not sure if the metal ones are a little heavier or not? I just really like the looks of the string loops anyways.

Metal ones can cause damage to your release.I have personally seen it.It wore a groove in the release and I actually watched the guy squeeze the trigger and the metal loop was hung on the release with the jaws open.[]This was a predicament to say the least.
The rope ones last a very long time, especially if you have a quality release.
what kind do you use, metal or string. The metal would seem to me to make more noise when you clip it on but would last longer
String loop all the way. In the Technical section there's an excellent post at the top on how to tie your own. Kudos to Greg/Mo.

i have used a metal one and in the winter time and it sucks!!!!!
It sucks any time of the year. I used one for a very short time and it sucked. Made my bow loud as he!!. Like everybody else has said use the string loop.
i'm using a string. Really easy to install/adjust, less noisy
