Because of the low number of deer harvested in Iowa(34,000 deer short of quota), IDNR has issued a new gun season(doe only), to be open Dec 21-23, this season will be open at the same time as bow season. Will this gun season pose a threat to bowhunters, as bowhunters are not required to wear orange?

Once in Minnesota they opened up a 3rd season in the area I hunt for the same reasons that the quota wasn't met. It opened in The 1st week of December, it sounded like a war was going on, we had 6" of snow on the ground and the deer had already started to group up. It was a slaughter, stupidist thing they ever did. The deer population around my area hasn't been the same since but its slowly coming back. I don't remeber if we (Bow Hunters) were required to wear orange or not, I'm thinking we were but any how i would if i was bow hunting where your talking about.

They should not have opened this statewide, it is crazy. I would wear ir too, gonna be some big time idiots out around here in Kossuth County.

In MN during any firearm season (early,rifle, or ML) you need to have at least 60% of your upper body in oarnge.

Not so sure they are as short on the quota asthe DNRthinks they are. I expect many hunters are not calling in their deer as required by the new law the last two years.
