Default How important is doe hunting

To you on a personal level?
NOT from a management standpoint we all know that answer.

Where do you fall?
A deer is a deer, buck/doe all the same to me.
Why shoot a doe, can"™t be any fun in it
They are my main focus, pile them up and fire up the grille.
I"™ll hunt them if there is nothing better to do
Our state"™s population isn"™t conducive to shooting does.

Honestly, I spend WAY more time focused on shooting does than I do bucks. It"™s a huge part of my bowhunting entertainment value. Don"™t get me wrong, I bust my behind to get a buck too, but does are really my staple. Then add that this season we gained an additional 6 weeks or so of doe only bowhunting, so you can see why its such a great way to stay out in the woods and on stand.

Rates right up there with flossing my neighbors cats teeth.

Last time I felt the need to kill one I was in school and I was hungry.[]

I still get excited when I shot a doe. Probably not the same level of excitement if I was shooting at a buck (still don't know what that feels like with a bow[&o]). I like shooting doe and even having them walk by me in the stand even when I know I am not going to shoot them.

The last few years I have tried to shoot older does, I have been picked off by 0 bucks. I have had older does come look for me in trees[:@]

I challenge those who think it is easy, to try and shoot an alpha doe. I final got one after she seen me 3 times.[:@]

I go hunting with the intention of shooting deer. Usually I am buck hunting, but I enjoy shooting does too. I agree with others, if shooting does was easy, there wouldn't be very many around here.

That old girl is dead, and it was my fault I moved.Every time she came by she would look for me[:@]
She's in the freezer now I have seen 30 deer from that stand, and she picked me off. It was my fault.

I love hunting for does. A deer is a deer in my book! I get the same emotions shooting a nice big buck as i do when i shoot a plump old doe! Im in it for the hunt not the bone. Havnt found a recipe i like for them antlers yet!
