Default Have you ever had the feeling like you never want to hunt again?

A few times when I've hunted all season without success I have.

The longer I go without success the MORE I want to hunt. It's weird. It makes me that much more determined.

After I get one I usually have a desire to take some time off (about a week or so) to re-focus.

Can't say I have. I'll have plenty of days duringthe seasonthat I go out and not see anything or have bad luck. But eventually it'll change, and the only way for that to happen is to keep going out.

Harvesting a deer is just icing on the cake... There are somany otherthings within the hunt that determinesuccess.

I've never felt that way but I have learned to pick my battles and knwo when I shouldn't go out. Those days are the ones I don't feel like goin, just cuz I know I'll be wastin my time, then just look forward to the next good lookin day or go hunt something else, ducks, coon, or go trappin. WCL

"Success" can be defined many ways...I remember three seasons ago when I told myself, "mature buck or bust". I saw 4 mature bucks I believe(more than I had ever seen in 1 season), but only I got 1 of those mature bucks within 35 yards. Hence I took no deer with my bow that year. I wasn't too happy but I did learn alot about bigger buck movement. So I decided that my season was definitely succesful, even though it was hard not to pull the trigger on smaller bucks and does. I stuck to it until the last day. I can feel what you are saying. Just take a relaxing book in the woods, get some perspective, and really enjoy what you are doing. Hope everything works out for you.
