Default I've Thrown in the towel

I just returned from hunting up north Wi.Wow! I wasn't expecting it to be that cold! I thought the temps were going to be in the high teens to lower 20s. I woke up Sat morning to -5 and it warmed all the way up to a high of 8. Walking back to my truck sat morning, I almost froze my face off (forgot my face mask) and only had a ball hat.[&:][&:]

I hunted Sat nightand Sun morning and didn't see a deer. I can't complain though, as this fall I took 2 does, a buck and a turkey. I'm looking forward to next year and I'm still checking on my trail cam. Then there's shed hunting.

It's time for me to get to work on my rec room/man cave. I missed doing this last winter, spring and summer after my father passed away. We're almost done with all of the estate business though, so it's time for me to spring into action![:-]

I've already replaced all of the systems in my house, electrical, plumbing, gas, phone, cable and even doorbell wires. I've got to do some drain work and then I get to do the fun stuff..... build the walls! I enjoy this type of work and it helps that I'm an installation electrician by trade. I had two big pines taken down in my yard and I took the logs to a saw mill and had 1x lumber made out of them. With one of the logs, I had them cut the center part 3 1/2" thick (2 pieces) because I plan on making a bar top out of them. With the rest of the 1x's I'm thinking of using for the walls of my archery shop.

The bottom line is, I need to make a home for all of my shoulder mounts. I'm tired of them just lying around on my spare bed all the time!

I hope everyone has a good holiday Respect!

GregH

Know what you're talking about and have pics of the big bucks to prove it.

At least, that's what I think.

Hey Greg, you know you're gonna want to let that pine dry out really good for a LONG time before you try to glue it up for a bar top. Otherwise, it'll check (split) real bad.

Oh, and don't forget your hat next time.
