Default Surprised!

Guys,
I was totally surprised yesterday. After work I rushed out to check my trail camera. Of course with the new snow fall traffic was horrible, but I finally got there. I was completely prepared.... remembered the key for the padlock, the replacement card and I even remembered to bring along a pair of boots instead of just wearing my work shoes.

I started walking along the edge of a picked corn field. There was a lot of snow, at least a foot deep. It had finally stopped snowing around noon and there wasn't even a single set of tracks visable. I had made it about 40 yards from the truck when suddenly both of my feet hit some ice hidden beneath the snow.[:-] Normally, I'm known for my cat like reflexes, stealth and agility. The next thing I know is that I'm laying on the ground with my hands still in the pockets of my carhart! I sprang back up (like a cat) only to look down and see a perfect snow angel of sorts. This one was slightly different, you could see a perfect impression complete with profile of my ball hat, brim and all. Where my feet were, the snow was swooshed away as if I were running, sidways! Sort of like that "keep on truckin'" dude. Pleased with my handiwork I continued on my way. I was so pleased that when I let out a string of expletives I could see the snow fall off the trees almost 200 feet away. That surprised me too! [:-]

BTW, I had 9 picks of 4 different bucks, a doe and a fawn. Nothing big though.

Thanks for listening.

I'm thinking, since the brim of your ball cap was visible, somebody must have landed on their face.... Man, I would have paid cash money to see the Gregster floppin around in the snow.... And a man of your ag........I mean, maturity.....Glad you weren't hurt bud....

Thats why you old...er mature folks are supposed to shuffle along. It prevents possible hip breaking falls.

I don't think I'd admit to face planting myself on this forum. Especially since you are so cat-like.
These guys are killers.

Nothing like a slip and fall to hurt your back!! You be careful but remember the important thing is none of your hunting buds saw you do it..Not that they would have laughed..

PS.. I have one of those nice walkers for the elderly in the basement. It even has front wheels. With a few modifications you could hang your bow and pack right on it. CAREFULL.............You don't have to fall far to get hurt big.
