Default Rage Question/Elements

As some know I am going to try the Rage out.
I have 2 in my quiver and 2 Montecs.

Here is question
After examine the rage last night and have 1 main issue.

Water + cold weather = freezing. So I froze one last night, going to try and open tonight and see what happens. From what I could see the only issue is the rage freezing.

Who has hunted with a rage in the elements?
Has anyone tested the rage yet like I am? (Freezing it)

Spray it with a little lubricant (wd40). That ought to stop any freezing. Just a little.....and wipe it down (de-scent). Spray it with something if you feel you need to.

interesting....never thought of that one...betting that will be a weak link of them...exspecially in my quiver...i cant get them in without leaving them exposed due to them opening...or having one nocked in freezing rain or similar conditions....just another reason to have a fixed head in your quiver...

I tested it when it was 90 plus degrees outside and it cut through like a hot knife in butter

That is a good idea though, freezing it. I would love to here the outcome of that.

i see your point Jeff....will add weight i guess...but id think it would be easier chip ice from a fixed head opposed to a rage or similar...

I couldn't say for sure, but here's my thought. There's not much room for water and ice to collect, meaning there won't be MUCH ice on there. Thin layer, sure....Not saying there won't be any, but......When those blades hit the deer, I'm thinking it will bust what small amount of ice there is and work perfectly fine.

Did you try to open them after you froze them? If so, how difficult was it to "bust" them open?

Well this Sunday we may get freezing rain

I do the freezing test with all my stuff. Release Aid, Bow, and think that may fail. First thing I do, freeze it and see how it works.
When I was playing around with it last night, it was what pop in my mind.
