Default Missouri hunters need some help

Im going hunting this weekend and have never hunted in missouri. I think itsthe southern part by the ozarks. How is the deer activity right now? I think we are going to be hunting over food, is that the best place or are there some better ideas? Thanks in advance!

There should be a few does still coming into heat, and some will be coming in for the second time shortly. So if you are hunting food sources, that is probably the best strategy.

But gun season just ended a little over a week ago. They still might be laying low after the orange army invasion. You might need to get back in the woods a ways to catch them coming to feed. They could be waiting till after dark to show in the fields.

Good luck and let us know it went.

Here where i live in Warsaw, which is 70 miles north of Springfeild, the deer movement is not very good. I've only been out a couple times after gun season and haven't seen anything. But we have been having hurricane force winds so i think that has been keeping the deer from moving. Where abouts are you hunting, KansasBBD?

We are finally seeing lots of activity on our farm,, it happens every year, it seems, after the rifle season is over there will be some good bucks show up fleeing the pressure on surroudning farms, and this year is no different. Im seeing a lot of feeding activity on food plots the last week and a half or so, My nephew asked me today if I had disked up my food plots again, they are so torn up right now, the deer are really about to kill out the plots. Where at in Missouri are you hunting?
