is that why? i know there are more reasons than that to sell a company. when you can cash in on a bundle - and keep your jobs - that's not always bad - let somebody else have the headache end of it.

Just like any other company that can't handle the bills, they sold the company.
LOL I actually laugh everytime I hear this from people that don't know any better. Seriously

This was a very lucrative deal for both parties. Bowtech gets a huge chunk of change on top ofthe huge chunk they were already making and now they have even further expanded their ability to market and promote their products with the backing of the largest firearms manufacturer. Trust me Savage doesn't exactly want to do anything to mess up a machine that will sell over 120,000 bows this year and is projected to beat that by a good bit in 08'.

Anyone want to do the math on 120,000+ bows multiplied by say (just for giggles) an average dealer cost of $550?
(I don't know the exact median average dealer cost of all models)
Throw in Stryker crossbows, their accessories and in house dipping facility as well as a brand new apparel line?
They donated something like $75,000 just to the TAPS program.

Can't handle the bills? LOL dude, come on, speak only of what you know for fact.

It's a Great deal for both sides and you can bet Savage Arms won't do anything to mess up the fastest growing Bow company in the last few years

I had to laugh too!! Can't pay the bills[8D]

Whew, I was worried there for a minute. Thought Bowtech might be like what has happened to alot of companies bought out by others. Meaning trim quality & personnel, then shut the doors a yr later. Is Savage arms going to let the Bowtech guys keep doing thier thing or put Savage personnel in place?

Savage is a gun maker, not a bow maker. I don't see any changes being made except maybe at the very top.

I see the aquisition by Savage as a good thing. It injects large amounts of capital into the company. You think Bowtech is a leader now in technology and product? Give them a couple more years and they will pull away even more. THey also get to benefit from any and all expertise within Savage like marketing, distribution etc. Win Win all around.
