Late in the season...Hunt the thickest & nastiest place you can find that has some trails leading to food sources. Food and cover is all they are going to be interested in at this point. Good luck, let me know how it turns out.

Maps, maps, maps! (BLM) You can find good hunting in small parcels near small towns all over the place and people do not mind a bow, so make sure you tell them a couple of times you are bow hunting. I have three secret spots I use during rifle season and do not have to worry about getting shot. The bucks are bigger and not as scared as in the free fire zone of the orange army. I still wear orange during the rifle season for my own safety. And last, hunt where there is game. MV out!

Any time you can scout in the rain or wind that is a bonus..if you get both, then scout quickly through areas you think may produce..like tomorrow for us, it is going to rain tonight and the wind is going to be blowing 20-30 mph tomorrow---I am going to do a combo scout/stalk hunt tomorrow about a mile deep....gonna stay downwind of the places I am looking at to see if I can figure some stuff out/potentially catch something moving out to feed.

Find the food that they are eating, then look for cover, or vice versa...then set up along that route using the route that will spook the least deer.

Start with TopoZone and Google earth. Find the spots back in far enough back inthat no one else wants to go. Most guys are VERY lazy and don't like to be too far out of sight of their MV.
Topozone is a freebee and is a great place to look over your new local.

Or you could just invite me and I could be your guide..
