Default weather forcast, where to sit?

Todays weather is.... winter storm, 3" -6" of snow between now and mid afternoon, then changing over to a wintery mix, with some sleet, and maybe even some rain. Wind will be strong, anywhere from 20mph, to 26mph from the SE.
Here is my question, I have 2 stands that I am trying to decide on for this afternoon. One is down in a thick gravel pit, the other is along a river, but it is more open along there. The temp is going to be in the low 20's, witih a windchill of abouit 4.

Where ever you decide wear your wind proof gear.

I would stay home, but it has been 2 weeks since I have been in a tree stand, and since I have not put my tag on anything yet this year, I have to at least go out and try.

If you only have two stand choices...I would go to wherever the food is....just my opinion. If they are bedded down in that thick stuff, and then get up to feed, I would try to catch them on the downwind side moving toward a feeding area.
