Default Is hunting in steady rain unethical?

-or- how about heavy falling snow?

-or- how about very windy conditions?

Lately I haven't been seeing the super ethics police twirling their nightsticks but what would they say about the questions posed? Obviously, rain can quickly wash away a blood trail while falling snow could cover it. At the same time, high winds could make a bow arm unsteady and on top of that throw an "on course" arrow "off course." If a less than perfect shot is less than ethical, wouldn't less than perfect conditions be the same thing?

Its supposed to be freezing rain/snow + very windy and like 23 degrees with a windchill of like 15this weekend here in IL.

Guess that's a mix of everything! I don't really know how well they would be moving but if I think I could stand it, I'd hunt.

judge the situation for yourself. based upon the shot placement, wind speeds, clear shooting lanes, amount of rain/ snow, i think you have to judge it by the situation

If yardage and temptation were limited to 10 to 15 yard shots the effects of the weather, winds & snow would be none existent.

I wouldn't go so far to say that it's unethical. It may not be the best time to hunt, but then again, it may actually be some of the best times to hunt. With rain, you know it'll wash away a blood trail rather quickly so it would be unethical, and unfair to the deer (or whatever you'll be shooting)not to give it your absolute best shot that you can make. But then again, that goes for perfect weather as well.

If I know I've hit a deer with the "perfect" shot, that being a double lung, I'll give him about 5 minutes and go after him very quietly. I've yet to double lung a deer and have him live for more than a couple of minutes. I'm talking about a solid double lung shot. I'm not talking about hitting one lung and knicking the other.

mid afternoon, I'm considering going 'cause my bow has been untouched for 3 weekends. I'm just not too thrilled about not being able to wear my home-made 3-d suit since muzzy's on and you gotta be in blaze.
