How many of you have tagged one w/ a bow during firearms season?

This weekend will be the first time I take my bow afield during an open rifle season. I guess I'm starting small.........I'll be out there Saturday morning in PA attempting to fill a doe tag with the bow. I'll be at it in NY on Sunday as well.

Who here has been successful in a high pressure area (PA, NY, etc) with their bow during rifle season outside of a bowhunting only zone? I'm just curious........

Matt, not successful in filling tags but came darn close one here back when doe was still doe season. I can't see shooting a doe with a rifle at this point in my life so I carried my bow during doe firearms and almost came to draw on more than one occassion.

I wanted to say good luck in your quest this weekend. If I didn't have a friend coming over to try for a doe I'd come up and film ya.

Thanks Rob. We will get together later this winter for late season, or maybe some shed hunting and scouting for turkeys I'm sure. Next time it will be a bit more comfortable as well.......

I'm trying.It's the onlyopening I've had time to hunt in pa.good luck all.I am returning to ill. for a week or so on the 10th.The daughter grads. from WVU on the 8th.

I shot a doe last monday two days before gun season closed. I do have access to 60 acres that doesnt get rifle hunted. The areas around it aren't hunted too hard though so being rifle season didn't have a huge impact on my hunt.

5 years straight, 3 bucks and 2 doe. Last 2 years during the rifle season is when I tagged my bow buck. I havnt carried a gun in 6 years now. Other than pheasent hunting, and I am toying with that.

Maybe not HIGH pressure.....but the poach patrol is out there.

From the '06 RIFLE season...

1st buck was taken at a friend's lease in the eastern zone of NC. I was the only person bowhunting...and the only person to take a deer, this day.

Shot the econd deer out of my woods on 12/9 of last year.....some 3 weeks into gun season.
