Default Never Ending Saga

Well my zero score bow season continues. I did have a 8 pointer come into my kill zone, his tines were really long, but there was little mass. As I drew back I imagined him during the next two years and let him walk. Then I had two youngun's walk under my stand and then hung around for 15 minutes. These would have been easy shots too. I hunt for the meat, but I have a problem with shooting the yearlings and small bucks with big potential. Tomorrow I am off for a repairman to come to the house and as soon as he is done, I'm in a stand. It'll be my last chance to hunt til after shotgun season ends on the 15th. I hope to fill this tag, but if I don't c'est la vie. Good luck to all others who have not filled their tags yet.

Some of the best bow hunting for big bucks in Iowa can be had hunting cornfields late bowseason imho. Good call on not taking a deer that wasn't what you had your sights set on.

AF Hunter, I feel your having one hell of a good season on your new property regardless of your tags being filled or not. It's a new place and your doing well. Keep at it, you see the buck you want and I can't wait to see it.

Geez mobow kills his buck and now look at him . Hang in the AF Hunter I know it'll happen for ya. I am surfing the web to see what goes good with tag soup myself. But I am not giving up yet because season is a long way from over.

No tones, some good hunting still to come with the snow and cold coming. Find some thick stuff and plant your butt right next to it near feeding. Unless my fat arse is there first then move on.

That a boy BOB,I sure have team nimrods trained!

I have not filled my tags either, but I consider this a great season. I have seen lots of deer and got to spend more time in the woods than any other recent year. Hang in there, the season ain't over!

Iowa bow season takes a break during shotgun then opens back up from Dec 16th to Jan 10th. Not too late for anything yet. Come the 1st of January I'll be less picky.

If you want to pay the price for an out of state tag (if they are even still available), come on up and I'll show you what real deer look like!
