Default Late Season?

I was just wondering how many of you will be bowhunting in the late season, I am not sure how every state works but here in WI we have a late archery season after the firearms seasons. I know I plan on getting in the woods a bit....If the snow gets deep and the weather is really cold it can be an awesome time...I know some of my more memorable hunts have been in the late season...

In MN you can archery hunt from second weekend of september to december 31st. Obviously you have to wear orange in archery hunting during firearms or ML seasons though.

I will be in the woods with 'ya. The late season here is from Dec.26th to Jan.12th.
It 's a cool time to be in the woods after a whitetail. No one else is around , the tracks give them away , and you don't have to get out at the wee hours of the morning. Deer activity is mostly between 10:00 and 3:00 , the warmest part of the day. The deer have calmed down alot since rifle season and feel more secure in their travels.
It's GREAT.

I like the late season in a way. The jokers for the most part have given up. (doesn't mean that if you've given up that your one, also doesn't mean that if you haven't that you're not)ThisJanuary will be the third time dragging my feet hesitantly out of the woods on closing day.

Yes I love that late season bowhunt! Its pretty tough hunting here in Wisconsin with the temps dipping pretty low! I would love to take a late season deer!

I'm tagged out this year, many times tho back when I hunted more doe I'd hold a tag for late season. It's tougher to take a doe here in late season than it is a good buck in early season so I love the challange. Couple that with any snow and it makes for a memorable experience. Our late season runs from the day after Christmas for 3 weeks. It's concurrent with flintlock season, and that can be fun in itself but I'm only one for one with my flintlock and I've taken several doe with bow late season.

Plus that one flintlock doe was a puncture wound right through the 12 ring of the deer. I tracked it an hour later in the snow and found it alive and it jumped up. I hit it perfect through both lungs but with the round ball and patch flintlock, it was a puncture wound. A broadhead would have had that deer down in sight. I did get it, it ran and collapsed and expired.
