Here is the doe I shot last Monday. Didn't get the pictures for awhile and didn't really feel like typing up a story for one reason or another but here she is.
Shot her on the hottest day we had in November, low 70's at 3:30 after sitting for about 30 mins. Had a good feeling about the spot. I was sitting over a heavily traveled trail that lead from a field to multiple bedding areas. A yearling and doe I shot stepped out from behind me and stopped at 10 yards on the trail. I drew back as she stepped out and mahhed her. As I buried the pin behind her shoulder, she took a half step as I shot and I hit her back but doing vital damage. She ran off and I knew she was dead, but I didn't know how far I was going to track. The blood was pretty good in some spots, spraying up on trees but other spots not so much. Luckily she headed down a trail thats about 300 yards long and it was easy to pick up on the blood. Found her about 200 yards from the shot. Luckily, the big hole from the Rocky Mountian Gator XP kept her blood going good.
Glad to finally get the monkey off my back this year. It's been a tough one but this helps. Now I gotta get back after the bucks.
