pse makes some good starter bows . what is your price range? your best bet is to go to a shop and check out several . they can probably help you with your selection

Most of your brand name bows are good. They all make a starter bow, I think. Mathews may not, but they make great bows. Really, in bow can be a starter bow, it is how you set it up that counts. You need to go to your local archery shop and ask things such as , 1.how many feet per second can I expect? 2. What about torque and vibration? 3. How muchweight to pull? What's myDraw length? What about brace hieght? Do you want speed or quietness and more accuracy? The faster the bow, the less accurate you will be. I shoot a fast bow, it is not forgiving, however, Ive been shooting for well over 20+ years. Just things to think about when you go!!

I bought a Mission X3 for my 1st bow. It's very quiet out of the box and even more quiet w/ limb savers and a stabilizer. Check out www.missionarchery.com for more info.

Diamond does make some great starter bows, and don't forget the Bowtech TomKat. Quite a bargain for the performance and technology you are getting

when asking this question you will most likely get a response from most people as to which bow it is that they shoot. your best bet like some people have been saying is to go to archery shops, shoot different bows, and see which one it is that you feel most comfortable with, dont go by what someone else says because its what they shoot. take their recommendations and try the bow for yourself, see if it fits you if it feels right.
