Default hang on

How many of you guys use a hang on stand? If you do use one tell me what kind and what climbing sticks you use? I am thinking about getting one. Thank you

I use the little junk one i got from my local sporting goods store that starts with a d and rhymes with "ricks" it cost me 30ish bucks so if it gets stolen who cares i paid 30 bucks for it. Your not paying for quality your just paying for something if someone steals its not like losing a prized posession.

Ryan.

edit: sorry i misread that. I use an aluminum ladder that i pained brown with black, and i also picked up a set of the climbing sticks that they had on sale at the same sportinggoods store for around the same price as the treestand. Sorry i got that wrong the first time.

I use several hangon stands, all different brands. From a cheapie I found at Sam's club several years ago to my expensive Lone Wolf Assault that I use when wanting to move around or trying a new area . If you plan on leaving the stand up for extended periods I would opt for a good but cheaper stand. No need to have an expensive stand stolen.

For climbing sticks I only use the Lone Wolf sticks. I bought an '07 set and they are improved over the older sets. More distance between the tree and actual step gives more footroom now. I lovem.

Regardless of which stand you choose, theft must be a consideration especially if you're going to leave it up a long time. I've had several hang on stands stolen, on private property, that were cable/locked to the tree. Unfortunatley some low life scum bag climbed the tree and cut the cable and stole the stand, leaving the cut cable and lock on the ground to add insult to injury. So whichever stand you wind up with, just be prepared to deal with this type idiotic mentality.

Most of my Hang ons are Gorillas. While I have a set of Rapid Rails and Love them most of the time I use Cranfords Detachable steps and just leave the lags in. It allows me several stand options along with the ability to get in and out quick and quiet

Theft is not an option with my stands... I am mobile. I hunt a new spot every sit. If the buck I am after does not come by when I am sitting there today, why would I expect him to come by tomorrow... Lone Wolf hang on and sticks. MOBILE
