Hunted over 80 hours now and the bedding stand in the bottoms pays off. (again) Two bucks chasing one doe and she gives them the slip. The smaller of the two comes to about 60 yrds downwind and is looking for the girl. I grunted by mouth and he kept looking even harder. He came about another 10 yards and was hung up. I had nothing to lose so I did probably the worst snort weeze ever (by mouth) and he came in on a rope. At about 40 yards he hangs up again and starts to quarter away. The Hoyt and the Grim Reaper talked him into staying with me forever on the wall. Liver and lungs and 100 yards later 1st buck of the season.
I have watched bucks all year and been in the wrong spot on several definite shooters. I was not going to let this one get away after seeing tons of 1 1/2 and 2 1/2 yr old bucks. This guys gonna gross and net about and 1" apart it looks. Weighed 184 dressed with a 20 1/4" inside spread.
He is my 3rd biggest but I still love him a lot!
