I bought the Guardian this year and could not be happier, but I have not shot the General.

what is the difference between the two? axle to axle is a little bigger for the guardian/short stop on general

The General has new cams and a 8 1/2 in brace height and the roller guides and the short stop. The General is a bit slower than the Guardian but I shot them side by side ( i have a Guardian) and didn't notice a whole lot of difference in the handshock/vibration/noise department. Or should I say lack there of.

I have a 60# General this year,I shot the 07' Gaurdian lastyear.I like the General better because of the possitive draw stop.I shoot back tension for 3-D,and the Gaurdian felt spungy on the wall for me.I would shoot both, then decide for yourself which one you like better. You can't go wrong with either of these bows in my opinion, both are handshock free, and smooth shooters.

If it is center pivot you seek, don't discount the Commander. It's longer axle to axle but the added forgiveness is great.
