Default 2 for 2........Finished in NY

http://www.huntingnet.com/forum/tm.aspx?m=2460146&mpage=1&key=&#246016 0

Almost scarey to think how well this season has gone. I put a tag on another nice buck opening day of gun. 2 nice bucks on 2 different farms..........and both were the result of specific plans that worked like a charm. I can't remember the last time this much unfolded the way I had invisioned it.

Mixed emotions.........I wish I wasn't done but it's a nice problem to have.

I had decided earlier in the year not to shoot any does off either of these farms due to low numbers so I will hit the big woods in search of some does on any future hunts. I plan to take my bow out on most of my future hunts this year as we really don't need any more meat but a late winter bow kill would be cool. The muzzleloader will get some field time as well.

Hunting in the heavy NY winter with my bow will certainly be interesting............and very difficult I am sure.

I wish our gun season was shorter and bow continued longer but that's life I guess.

How long do you guys get to hunt with your bows AFTER the guns blaze??

Wow, that's a pretty good buck!!!

What county? Congrats to you on 2 good ones!

I am at it with the bangstick for a few weeks, but looking forward to late archery season as well. NY late season is 12/10-12/18, and then PA is 12/26 to 1/12. I'll be out there and honestly am thinking of taking the bow out for the rest of rifle season too....

Thanks guys and good luck to all in the upcoming weeks.

Anyone have any advice for bowhunting during a heavy pressured gun season??

Besides "Stay Home!!" [8D]

Can't wait to see the looks on people's faces when they see me carrying a bow in the middle of the orange army.

Congrats man.

After the guns blaze here in PA, we get another 2-3 weeks after Christmas to bow hunt.

I too will be toting the bow during our orange army invasion. My plan is to bury into a thick area, that I still feel the deer will either pass thru or head into to lay low for a while.

Good luck out there. With the way your season has been, my money is on you drilling a doe.

Haha thats great Atlas!! What a season, remember and enjoy it. Walk around the boys with a little extra bounce in your step
You know, Ive filled my freezer early in years past. I took the time I would have been out hunting, and made bolgne, sausage, etc... was actually fun and I got the wife involved so that made it even better.

Good job bud
