Default Dead buck

A couple of years ago my aunt killed a HUGE buck with her shotgun, well my uncle was out bowhunting this year and kept seeing a buck that he said had the same bloodline as the one my aunt killed. He quit seeing it about 3 weeks ago, and he just found him againyesterday...

We noticed that a coyote had been staying in this one corner of a beanfield for a while, so he went down there and looked and this is what he found. The left antler was actually broke out of the skull- theres about a 4 inch piece of skull still attached to the antler. My uncle thinks that this guy got locked up with another buck and the other buck just ripped the antler out of the skull. He said he's heard of it happening and kinda thought that was what happened to this guy.

The pics dont really do it justice as they were taken with a camera phone, Im not a small guy and I can barely fit my fingers around the bases.

What do you guys think coulda happened? What would you do with it?

Yeah I dont think it was a car accident... no roads close by or anything like that. But you're right, anything could have happened.

I really wanna get it mounted, a buck like that deserves it. I just wish he coulda lasted a little bit longer so someone in the family could have taken him

Gorgeous buck and it's so hard to say. Nice keep sake though. Get it cleaned up and make a nice display.

Just look at the mass. Clean it up. That old warrior should be honored. Thanks for sharing.

Yeah he had ALOT of mass. We are hoping the bloodline is still out here, would really stink if it wasn't. He did say that he saw a buck bigger than this one about 2 weeks ago. If it really did get it's antler ripped out then we're assuming that it was that buck that did it.

The buck my aunt killed two years ago looks almost identical to this one, except each tine was about 4" longer. We're assuming they were "brothers" or "father/son" We took my aunts to the check station and had it looked at and they said 2 1/2 years old.
