There is going to be a whole lot of gunshots in the woods today. Opening day of gun here in NY. I'll be toting the ole bow and arrow around hoping one of the freaked out bucks happens to stop broadside withing bowrange for me [:-]. I have a good little spot where pressured deer tend to flock to I'll be sitting. Snow on the ground, cold as hell, .... life is good. Good luck to everyone this weekend.

My bow only county will be a little less pressured today thanks to the gun opener. As you can see I couldn't drag myself out of bed this morning, took the edge off yest. shooting a big doe in the afternoon. But I'll be out this afternoon. Good luck to everyone.

I'm glad my state-park public-spot doesn't allow firearms, so my stretch of the woods will be completely undisturbed for the three-day season. Hopefully I'll be posting pics of a whopper this next week. Weather's perfect and the deer are moving.

I was out turkey hunting today Jeff, no birds but could have taken a dandy 2.5 year old 8 point! Saw a fawn doe, doe and then another buck a big 4 later one (all in range)...but no birds.
